Kitchen Team Member

Reports to the Shift Manager 

 

Summary: Kitchen Team Members are responsible for ensuring all foods meet the safety and quality standards by staying up to date on food safety regulations, monitoring food temperatures throughout their shelf lives, ensuring all equipment is being used properly, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Understands all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs.

  • Prepares all hot and cold foods according to the restaurant recipes and portions. 

  • Ensures all prepared food items are labeled and initialized.

  • Ensures all items are organized properly: stored on shelving and coolers in designated areas according to Pollo Peru FIFO method.

  • Ensures all work areas are clean, organized, and free of cross contamination, according to food and health standards.

  • Follows safe knife handling procedures.

  • Assists in preparation of catering orders.

  • Assists in cleaning tasks.

  • Assists in lobby maintenance during peak hours.

  • Operates kitchen equipment and machinery.

  • Sets up and breaks down work areas. 

  • Takes out the trash.

  • Refills kitchen chemicals as needed.

  • Puts orders away.

  • Maintains an awareness of all existing menu items, advertisements and promotions.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Positive attitude and team player

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to stand for 8 hour shifts 

  • Ability to lift objects up to 45lbs

  • Flexible work schedule

  • Willing to help wherever needed
